The product
Research Assistant Pro is a Chrome extension that creates local research briefs from a page, selected passage, text-based PDF, or explicitly pasted text. An instant extractive mode uses packaged extension code; compatible Chrome devices can add richer built-in AI summaries, questions, and synthesis. The free tools handle one source at a time. A Pro license adds an encrypted local project library, reusable templates, multi-source comparison, evidence matrices, synthesis, and project export.
The extension requires Chrome 138 or newer on desktop. Richer AI features additionally require compatible hardware, Chrome's on-device model, and sufficient local storage. AI output may be inaccurate and must be checked against the source before it is used for an important decision.
Price, payment, and renewal
Annual Pro costs USD 39 per year with no free trial. Paddle is the merchant of record and processes payment. It shows any applicable tax, currency conversion, and final total before you authorize payment.
A purchased subscription will renew automatically each year at the price shown in Paddle's renewal notice unless you cancel before renewal. You will be able to manage or cancel it through Paddle's buyer portal. A scheduled cancellation normally leaves Pro access active until the paid period ends.
Delivery and license
After a completed checkout, the success page provides a license key. You activate that key inside the extension. One subscription is for one customer and may be active on up to three of that customer's Chrome installations. The license is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and limited to personal or internal business research.
You may not share, sell, sublicense, publish, or use the key to provide access to another person. You may not bypass license controls, disrupt the provider services, or use the product unlawfully.
Local data and third-party services
Research content stays on your device as described in the privacy policy. Paddle processes checkout and subscription data. A stateless Cloudflare Worker fulfills entitlement changes in Keygen. Chrome supplies the on-device AI capability. Those services are subject to their own availability and terms.
Ending Pro access does not delete the encrypted library already stored in Chrome. You can continue to read, export, or delete local projects, but Pro write features require a current entitlement.
Cancellation, refunds, and mandatory rights
Cancellation stops a future renewal; it is not automatically a refund. Paddle handles refund requests under the refund and cancellation policy. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
Availability and responsibility
Needly Labs may provide security, compatibility, and reliability updates and may suspend a license affected by cancellation, refund, fraud, abuse, or a material breach of these terms. Consequential actions remain under your control: the extension does not submit forms, publish research, or act on AI output for you.
To the extent allowed by applicable law, the software is provided without a promise that every source will be readable, every device will support Chrome's model, or every AI result will be correct. Any liability that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected.
